How Betty's Table of Hope collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: your name, phone number, email address, home address, household size, and the reason you're requesting food assistance (for beneficiaries); your name, contact details, location, and skills (for volunteers); and any story or feedback you choose to share with us (for community stories). We only collect what we need to run the pantry and coordinate support.
Why we collect it
We use this information solely to coordinate food assistance pickups and deliveries, schedule and manage volunteers, acknowledge donations, and - with your explicit consent - share community stories publicly. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except where required by law.
How we protect it
Our systems are hosted on Base44's infrastructure, which provides encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure hosting. Access to stored data is limited to trusted team members who need it to do their work. We are working toward minimum necessary access controls as our team grows.
Your rights under the NDPR / NDPA
Betty's Table of Hope processes personal data of Nigerian residents and recognises the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to correct inaccurate data, and to request that we delete or anonymise your data. How long we keep data
We aim to retain personal information only as long as operationally necessary - for example, for the current distribution cycle or reporting period - after which we work to delete or anonymise records, keeping only aggregate, non-identifying figures for impact reporting.
